I’m Tara, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I’ve been a therapist in various settings since I graduated in 2012 with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I consider myself to be a warm, accepting, and empathetic therapist, but I will also give honest and direct feedback when it’s helpful. I became a therapist because I’ve always enjoyed listening to understand, which often leads to clarity and ideas for resolution.
I provide counseling for men, women, couple’s, families, and teens. Areas of specialty for me include overcoming personal insecurities, relational issues, effects of an adverse childhood, depression, anxiety/fear, and stress management. I have a Christian background, but am also very respectful of my client’s personal beliefs.
I’ve been married 11 years and have a 9 year old daughter with a ton of personality. In my free time, I like to be outside, read, do puzzles, or watch a good movie.
Some counseling approaches I have found to be most effective include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered/Strengths Based Approach, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I’m always eager to meet new clients and would be honored to hear your story and support you on your journey.
