Hi! My name is Courtney Nowicki and I am a Licensed Social Worker. I like working with a variety of ages and challenges, especially helping people work through trauma and struggles with mental health. Working with family and relationship issues is something I enjoy as well. I am most passionate about working with adolescents and women who have survived sexual assault/abuse and domestic violence.

I operate from a trauma-informed, strengths-based perspective and believe in looking at the whole person and systems of their lives. I treat my clients with respect and compassion, hoping to create an open, trusting, and non-judgmental environment where we can explore what is important. You are the expert on yourself/your family and I am here to walk alongside you to help you make connections and gain insight, look deeper to identify and overcome emotional blocks, utilize tools, and reach your goals. I have a relaxed and open style to serve those of Christian and other perspectives.

Some fun facts about me:

-I am happily married and have an amazing baby boy. Family in general is so important to me.

-I enjoy nature and love going on walks, especially exploring new places.

-Some hobbies I have include listening to podcasts, watching a favorite show, and spending time with family/friends.

-I am an animal lover and have four cats.

Education and Career Background:

I received my Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology and my Master's of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health and Addictions from Indiana University South Bend. I have a diverse background which includes volunteering/working with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking who were in crisis. I also had practicums in a community mental health setting and doing trauma social work at a hospital. Most recently before here, I was a therapist for a non-profit agency where I worked with children, adolescents, and adults individually, as couples, and as families.

I have specialized training in helping survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. I am also trained in the following evidence-based practices: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Centered Treatment, Nurturing Parenting, and am adding more! Thank you for learning about me and I would love to work with you!
